Guided tours to the Domus del Chirurgo
Until the beginning of June it is possible to admire the archaeological complex called “Domus del chirurgo” in the historic centre of Rimini, a treasure in the heart of the city who gained international fame for the exclusive discovered materials.
The local museums organise guided tours for shools and group; moreover one has the possibility to join guided tours to the archaeological complex every sunday from 15.30.
The place shows its beauty and splendor through the excellent mosaics and fresco paintings of the Domus and the “corredo del Chirurgo” (with over 150 surgical instruments shown in the Museo della Città), probably the most important archaeological heritage of the roman age.
The excavations revealed another part of the ancient Ariminum of the 6th and 7th centuries, with its polychrome mosaics and its medieval remains.
The visit is included in the price of the ticket and is free for the cardholders of Rimini City Pass, a touristic-cultural card offering services and dicounts in order to discover the city. One can organise trips to the archaeological complex and to single parts of the Museo della Città for groups not over 25 participants and for an amount of 30 € for the whole group (additional price to that of the entry ticket). The booking has to be made at the Museo della Città tel. 0541-21482. For student groups tel. 0541.704421 - 704426 – 704428
